EMYA 2022. Silletto Award for Participation and Commitment to the Community

The Inca Museum of Footwear and Industry has received the prestigious Siletto Award from the European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA) 2022. This recognition is awarded to museums that stand out for their work with the community and to promote close collaboration with the public and visitors.

The jury highlighted the museum’s commitment to preserving the region’s industrial heritage, its innovation in interpreting the history of footwear, and its active role as a cultural and educational centre that promotes local development. This award highlights the work of the museum in promoting the shoemaking tradition and local industry, highlighting people and their stories.

11th Ibermuseos Education Award 2020

The Museum of Footwear and Industry of Inca was recognized with the 11th Ibermuseos Award for Education in 2020 for the project “Un Objecte, tres visions”. This award highlights innovative initiatives that contribute to social inclusion and education through cultural heritage.

The project “One Object, three visions. Virtual Integration Project” was valued for its ability to connect various perspectives of the community through museum objects, fostering intercultural dialogue and critical reflection. This initiative stood out for its participatory approach and for involving visitors, local artists and museum staff in a collaborative and enriching educational experience.
