Present collaborators

The new Museum of Footwear and Industry was possible thanks to the participation and engagement of many individuals and organisations. Their collaboration is crucial to preserve and enlarge the Museum collection, to host temporary exhibitions, to plan cultural and promotional activities and to develop educational resources, amongst many other initiatives.

For instance, Consell de Mallorca awards annual subsidies to purchase new museum equipment and develop cultural projects.

We also collaborate with the University of the Balearic Islands running a work placement programme whereby graduate and postgraduate students complete their practical training at the Museum.

Thanks to the SOIB Joven programme, we also benefit from the support of a qualified young specialist who helps us in museum management matters.

The students from Es Grop – Training Centre of the City Council – manufacture wood exhibition furniture for our Museum. Likewise, the City Council’s brigade performs maintenance tasks at the premises and helps setting up the exhibits.

AFACA (Association of Shoe Manufacturers and Ancillary Industries), Camper, Viva Hotels and Caixa Colonya have contributed with monetary donations so that we can change and improve the entire museography of our permanent exhibition. The collaboration of Gráficas García is also worth noting, since this graphic design firm was responsible for our new visitor’s guide.
